A thorough examination, with diagnostic records will help the
doctor formulate a treatment plan. The plan may include several treatment
tools.
Metal Braces
Gold Braces
Clear Braces
Braces cemented to the teeth
are made of metal (stainless steel or titanium),
or they can be ceramic tooth colored for an “invisible” appearance.
Orthopedic devices can be used
in children to alter the growth of the upper and
lower jaws when the “bite” is incorrect.
Adults with “bite” misalignments sometimes
need surgical repositioning of the jaw bones (orthognathic
surgery).
Removable appliances, such as
retainers, and invisaligners, are sometimes used
to correct minor tooth alignment problems.
Removable night guards may be
used to treat pain from TMD (temporomandibular disorders).

When a child’s teeth are not ready for braces, our eruption supervision
program is a great value. We will periodically check for proper development
of the teeth to catch any problems early. There is no charge for the recall
examinations. If a problem becomes evident we will recommend treatment at
the appropriate time.
